Do you think that to many books are being made into movies.
Like, The Harry Potter Series, Twilight Saga and The Hunger Games, and I heard somewhere the The 50 Shades of Grey is going to be a movie possibly next Summer. Do you think this is goo d or a bad thing ?
I suppose it depends on your definition of good and bad. Books like the ones that you mentioned come prepackaged with a huge fan base and, as a result, make for easy money for the film industry. So, that is a good move for them.Looking at it from a more artistic perspective, I think that making novels into films can be a hit or miss endeavor. For example, The Godfather and One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest translated wonderfully into film. Others, like Watchmen, are turned into sub-par films that satisfy the fan base (or, at least, some of the fan base) but are disliked by everyone else. Some (I cant think of any examples right now) are just turned into god awful films. Then there are the ones, like Silver Linings Playbook, that are loved by the average film goer but disliked by fans of the book. So, at the end of the day, there is no black and white answer here. It all depends on the novel, the people working on the films, how closely they follow the original piece of work, the state of our culture at the time of the film release, and, of course, the fans.

Is there anyone like me who can’t decide what Harry Potter Book is the best.
Every book is uniquely different, yet every book is intriguing, interesting and brings a whole new world. Here are my thoughts.Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone- It was the start of the Harry Potter series, first of all. It introduced us to a peculiar boy with a lightning bolt scar on his head. It…
I loved your summaries to all the books. I have too many favorite books in the HP series, but my favorites consist of The Prisoner Of Azkaban, The Goblet of Fire, The Order of Phoenix, and Deathly Hallows. All the books were written beautifully and JK is a fantastic writer. I loved the book 3-5 because Sirius Black was introduced and he was a great character, he was a big role in the book even though he wasn’t brought up often and I cried when he died. 🙁 Deathly Hallows was great too, it was so full of suspense, mystery, and adventure.
How many people would like to read a crime novel.
How many people would enjoy reading not your run-of-the-mill gangster crime drama that is about a policeman, or a detective, or a secret serviceman, and what-not, but a crime novel written from the gangsters’ perspective like ‘The Godfather’. How many, because I am interested in writing a novel from…
It would depend on the plot. Every genre has its hits and misses. Because I’m not a fan of crime novels, the fact that it would be written from the perspective of a criminal means no more to me than if it was written from the POV of a cop or detective. Crime dramas are very popular and you seem to enjoy them very much. There are so many books out there, you would have to be very careful that your book is not too similar to another’s. Happy writing.
The Godfather Book by Mario Puzo Review.
Please – a book review on The Godfather by Mario Puzo
The book that started the legacy. One man alone developed the story that was to be one of the most successful stories in cinema history. While The Godfather Part I is in my opinion by far the best part of the trilogy, the book eclipses even that. There are a countless number of reasons why.One of the greatest features of this book is the fact that, not only does it contain the excellent plot of the first movie, but it also includes the flashbacks to young Vito Corleone, which are found in The Godfather Part II. Mario Puzo develops the character of Vito much more fully in the book. Not only does he describe how Vito became “The Godfather,” but also goes into the details of the earlier Mafia wars in New York City. Puzo develops many of the characters that have minor roles in the film version, such as Johnny Fontaine, who has a far larger role in the print version. The greatest feature of this masterpiece by Mario Puzo is his writing style. After only reading the book once, you will immediately know his distinct style. He effectively uses flashbacks in this book to keep the reader hooked and wanting to read more. It will be revealed that someone has died, and then it will, in the next chapter, explain exactly what happened. Never before had I seen a writer do this so effectively. Puzo does it just the right amount of times so that the reader does not become confused with the story line. This is easily one of the greatest books written in recent years, and I highly recommend anyone who is intrigued by this story to read the book.
The Godfather: a few questions.
